What this gate checks
Gate 6 verifies that the overall receipt image is clear enough for automated reading. The system checks image resolution, blur level, and whether key receipt fields (total amount, date) are detectable. A corrupted or damaged image file also fails this gate.
Common failure reasons
- Photo taken in low light — dark, grainy image
- Camera too far from the receipt — text is too small to read
- Receipt crumpled or folded, obscuring key fields
- HEIC file from iPhone not processed correctly — try converting to JPG
- File is corrupted or partially uploaded
How to ensure Gate 6 passes
Photograph the receipt flat on a bright surface with good overhead lighting. Fill the frame with the receipt. Ensure the total amount and date are clearly visible before uploading. Check the preview in Step 3 — if it looks blurry to you, it will fail the gate.
